Haven House, Inc. is dedicated to providing affordable, effective, and flexible services to individuals recovering from alcohol and drug abuse or dependency in a relaxed home-like setting through our Halfway House and Outpatient Treatment and Education Modalities. All Haven House Treatment Programs are Certified by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration and are governed by a 10 member Board of Directors.
Haven House, Inc. was founded in 1970 as a private non-profit corporation (501C-3) for the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction. Our oldest program is our Halfway House Modality. This program offers a chemically free environment to 10 male residents for an average treatment length of 9 months. In 1987, Haven House, Inc. expanded services to include Out-Patient counseling and DWI Treatment and Education. In 2008 we opened our new on-site building. This new facility allows our program to provide a variety of groups and group times to individuals that are employed on different shifts.
During the 9 month treatment period in our Halfway House Modality, residents are seen for individual counseling, and two in-house treatment groups on a weekly basis. They are also required to attend a minimum of 3 self help programs in the community. Individualized treatment plans are developed with the resident and their counselor to address their individual needs in all areas (vocational, educational, mental health, etc.) All residents are required to be employed and must pay a weekly room and board fee. This fee is determined by a sliding fee scale. Random urinalysis screens are collected on site for lab testing. Residents can extend their treatment episode provided there is a need for additional time to resolve their treatment goals. Our Halfway House modality is partly funded by a Grant through the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration Department of Health and Mental Hygiene of the State of Maryland.
Our Out Patient services offer standard level one treatment services for alcohol and drug abuse and dependency. We are also Certified to provide DWI Assessments, Education, and Treatment. Haven House, Inc. employs an Executive Director, In-patient counselor, Out-patient counselors, and a Certified Clinical Supervisor. Our Halfway House Modality employs a part-time cook, full-time House Manager, and Weekend House Manager. Haven House, Inc. enjoys a good working relationship with Division of Parole and Probation, Drinking Driver Monitor Program, District and Circuit Courts and Local Attorneys. Our programs are recognized by the States of Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia as meeting their treatment and education requirements.
